Curatorial Statement

Elana Janel Casey (b.Washington, DC 1994) is a curator based in Chevy Chase, MD. Her approach to curation is rooted in the black tradition of storytelling, allowing exhibitions to evolve with the artist's vision. As a facilitator, she helps artists navigate the complexities of life, constructed narratives, imagined histories and realities. Her primary focus is to immortalize black diasporic stories and to invite viewers to engage in a dialogue that centers on our collective humanity.
